We have a beautiful new lady’s locker room and a great new website, so why not an official blog? We hope to use this blog to introduce all of our members to new aspects of Olympic Indoor and the tennis world, provide tips and advice on fitness and injury prevention, highlight some of our members and special programs, and much more.
My name is Susan Weil, and I will be doing the majority of the blogging for Olympic. I have been a member of the club for about 20 years! I’m a lifelong tennis player; I started playing when I was about seven-years-old by hitting against a wall while my parents played with each other. I played throughout high school and taught tennis through the USTA’s National Junior Tennis League program while I was in college. I usually play 2-3 days a week, when I’m able. I currently am the USTA League Coordinator for the club so I schedule the courts for the matches, get the scorecards ready, and do the other things related to USTA matches. I have coached the Bishop Watterson Girls Tennis team for the past five seasons. My daughter, Zoey, plays tennis as well and participates in the High-Performance Junior Program. She plays tournaments throughout the Midwest as well as at the national level, so I spend a lot of my time navigating the world of junior tennis. I also have a background in corporate communications and public relations. So that’s me!
