Played on the ATP Tour from 1978-1984 and was ranked as high as #64 in the world in singles (March 1982) and as high as #96 in the world in doubles (September 1983). One of only 40 players in the world to win a Grand Prix event in 1982 when winning the Lorraine Open in Metz, France against 15th-ranked Steve Denton. Career wins include Rod Laver, Stefan Edberg, and Adriano Panatta. Played in the main draws in singles and doubles in the US Open, Wimbledon, and the French Open.

Only male tennis player from Ohio to be ranked in the top 100 in the world in both singles and doubles in the last 40 years

Statement/Coaching Philosophy: I concentrate on proper technique and fundamentals for new players. For all players I try to maximize their abilities and strive to shape my instruction individually since no two players are the same. Less talking, more hitting.
