Olympic Indoor Tennis Club Announces 11 & Up Beginner & Advanced Beginner Tennis Lessons

The programs will begin the week of September 8th.

All Levels from Beginner to Advanced Beginner are offered Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday in 45 minutes to 1 hour class times. The schedules are Monday between 4:30-6:00pm, Tuesday between 4:30-6:00pm Thursday between 3:45-6:00pm and Saturday classes are between 10-3:00pm. There will be a maximum of 6 students/Pro for the hour classes and 4 students/Pro for the 45 minute classes. Students will be grouped by age. The 12 week sessions are $174.00 for 45 minutes or $198.00 for 1 hour per student and no club membership is required.

Advanced players will be able to participate in actual league play Saturday or Sunday between 3:00pm & 6:00pm. A Junior Membership will be required for league play. Learn more details on this program by calling 267-1213.

BERNARD MASTER SELECT TEAM FINISHES 3RD AT MIDWEST CITY TEAM CHAMPIONSIPS
July 2015

The Bernard Master select team finished in 3rd place at the Midwest City Team Championships held in Chicago, July 10-12. After defeating St. Louis North 30-10 and Chicago North 31-9, they were defeated by Madison, Wisconsin 23-17 in their flight. Columbus then defeated Dayton 21-19 in the third place playoff. Madison went on to defeat St. Louis South for the title. Eight teams participated in this 11th annual event.

Columbus was led by Boys 10 & Under, Jacob Jose, and Girls 14 & Under, Akua Woods, who both won all 12 of their matches. Jack Old (B10) and Rhyan Cook (G14) both went 11-1. Em Motta (G10) and Alek Jacoby (B12) both were 10-2. Erin Storrer (G12), Nate Meadors (B14), and Malcolm Low (B16) finished 9-3.

The team was coached by Susan Storrer and assisted by Mary McGuff. Each match consisted of 20 singles, 10 doubles, and 10 mixed doubles sets.

Other players on the Columbus Team included: Ava Allen (G12), Mack Montalvo (B12), Lauren Motta (G12), Evan Waite (B14), Tom Ohler (B16), Janelle Ghanem (G16), Macie Kercsmar (G16), Kathleen McGuff (G16), Chris Kusovski (B16), Kevin Miller (B18), Lizzie Radkiewicz (G18) and Haley Jackson (G18).

While this is the final season for the Olympic Swimming Pool after 76 great years, Olympic Indoor Tennis is alive and well! Our 38th season begins on September 2nd and we are looking forward to sharing our new lighting system and our new package pricing options with our great members!
